About Us

RISE Sustainable Investment Consultancy was founded in 2022. After working in the sustainable investment industry over the last 20 years, we decided to form RISE to help investors and companies to:

  • quickly adapt and become fully-equipped to the new challenging landscape of sustainable investment and corporate sustainability;
    effectively manage their sustainability risks; and
  • confidently allocate investments in solutions that addresses the sustainability challenges of today.

 

We first met in 2017 after discussing the idea to combine the efforts of our respective organizations PRI and CFA Institute to support investors integrate ESG-integrated financial analysis into their investment process and decisions.

This project organised 23 ESG integration workshops in 17 financial centres across the world. It also generated three regional reports and a report entitled “Guidance and case studies for ESG integration: equities and fixed income”, which has informed many popular ESG training courses.

Our work in recent years include:

  • LGPS Central’s net zero  strategy and report entitled “Portfolio & Real-world Decarbonisation in Public and Private Markets;
  • Fitch Ratings’ ESG in Credit reports;
  • CFA Institute’s report “Climate Change Analysis in the Investment Process”; and
  • CFA Institute’s report “Integrating Natural Capital and Biodiversity in the Investment Process”.

Justin Sloggett, CFA

Founder and Head of EMEA

Justin Sloggett, CFA is the co-founder of RISE Sustainable Investment Consultancy and the owner and Managing Director of Lansbridge Management Limited, a commercial real estate business that exists to achieve real-world impact, supporting UK-based small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the healthcare, wellbeing and business services sectors.

During his 20 years in the investment industry, Justin has worked within several financial-service firms including, consultancies, a credit rating agency, a proxy voting agency, a non-profit organisation, asset managers and asset owners. 

Matt Orsagh, CFA

Founder and Head of Americas

Matt Orsagh, CFA is the co-founder of RISE Sustainable Investment Consultancy. He possesses nearly twenty years of relevant work experience in the areas of ESG integration, climate change integration, materiality analysis, ESG analysis, executive compensation analysis, and equity investment analysis.

Previously, Matt was Senior Director, Capital Markets Policy at CFA Institute (CFAI), where he informed and advised CFA Institute and their charterholders on strategic planning on and research of corporate governance and ESG (environmental, social and governance) issues.
